The blues bassline

In this extraordinary workshop with Carmelo Leotta you will feel the special connection between double bass and harmonica, bass and melody. As a blues and jazz musician, Carmelo is often on stage with harmonica players and will show you what is important when playing together.
As a double bass player, you will learn how to create a strong rhythmic and harmonic ground and how to make melodic offerings. As a harmonica player (or player of any other solo insrument), you will learn how to make the bass line melodic for your free improvisation and how to use it to find your way back into the song – no matter how far away you may have been flying in the improvisation.
The workshop is aimed at double bass and harmonica players (diatonic, chromatic) who want to explore the interplay between bass lines and improvisation. And to all the players of other solo instruments who are curious and want to take part. It contains 10 lessons, 60 minutes each. The workshop will be held in German and English. In addition to your instrument, you should bring a lot of curiosity and a little enthusiasm for experimentation.
