The power of melody
MASTER WORKSHOP
FOR HARMONICA AND OTHER MELODIC INSTRUMENTS
with Ariel Bart
13–15/03/2026,
uferstudios, Berlin
Let Ariel Bart take you on an unusual journey into the world of improvisation and composition. In her music, the Berlin-based jazz musician tells beautiful stories that are both powerful and lyrical. In this three-day master workshop, she explains her approach to music and how you can create memorable and captivating melodies yourself.
If you are an advanced payer and want to improve your compositional skills and improvisation, this workshop is for you. “I am delighted to welcome anyone who wants to learn what makes a melody truly compelling. I will provide them with practical methods for developing exciting motifs,” says the young harmonica player.
Join Ariel Bart for a weekend immersion in the fascinating world of improvisation and composition. You will learn how to build and develop exciting motifs, transform rhythms, and shape phrasing to make your melodies more vivid and memorable.
Playing with the limits of the instrument—whether harmonica, saxophone, violin, or guitar, to name a few—is an exciting challenge for Ariel Bart. “We will explore the limits of our instruments, learn how to embrace those limits and turn them into strengths in melody-building and improvisation.”
Finally, part of the workshop will be devoted to ensemble work. This will also involve further developing listening skills, exchanging ideas, and creating personal, powerful melodies inspired by fellow players.
A workshop for advanced players with and without stage experience who want to deepen their understanding of melody construction and develop a more personal, expressive approach to improvisation—regardless of musical style and instrument.
