With an unusual double concert this winter, we are not only joining forces with our sister instrument, the accordion, for the first time. We are also bringing together two extraordinary musicians in an unusual way. World meets jazz—that’s the energetic world music of Cathrin Pfeifer. World meets jazz—that’s the thoughtful, poetic music of jazz accordionist Fe Fritschi.

Curious? Then come by and experience live how seemingly opposites come together in music.

Berlin accordionist Cathrin Pfeifer has worked in a wide range of musical fields and with musicians from different cultural backgrounds. She has played in various world music bands and immersed herself in Brazilian, Argentinean, African, Greek, and Italian folk music. These influences can also be heard in her own compositions today. She currently plays solo and with her own trio TREZOULÉ, mainly performing her own compositions.

Fe Fritschi studied accordion and jazz piano and has shared the stage with greats such as Colin Vallon and Norma Winstone. He is appreciated on both instruments for his melodic compositions, but also for his improvisational flexibility and willingness to take risks. In 2023, he released “Body Electric,” an album that combines chamber jazz with fusion. He has also been working as a lecturer since 2017.
