From Motive to Expression

FEN SPECIAL – MASTER WEEKEND FOR HARMONICA AND OTHER MELODIC INSTRUMENTS
with Ariel Bart
13–15/03/2026,
uferstudios, Berlin
The focus of the first part of the workshop will be on melodic improvisation and composition unless what instrument the participants play. Ariel will discuss with you how to create a strong melody, what makes it memorable, how to build and develop a motive (rhythmic transformation, sequencing, inversion, etc.)
In the second part she will help you to explore the limitations of your instruments, to find ways how to overcome them, and how to push the boundaries of your instrument. You will learn to experience limitations as creative tools.
