Beginner-Workshop

From the first single note to rhythmic playing and a bluesy sound. George Reijnders will take you into the wonderful world of the harmonica. The first single notes, bluesy sounds and rhythmic accompaniment – with the harmonica you’ll soon sound like a small band. Try it out! George is the founder of Harmonica Workshops Nederland and has already accompanied many beginners on their first steps with the instrument. With a lot of enthusiasm, he will show the participants what this little instrument is capable of. You will need a diatonic harmonica (“blues harp”) in the key of C. If you don’t have an instrument, you can buy one on site for around 30 euros.

THE INSTRUCTOR
George Reijnders is a harmonica player from Amsterdam and founder of the Harmonica Workshops Nederland. As a member of the semi-acoustic blues duo “The Men – Unplugged”, he has been playing the harmonica on stage for ten years. George’s trademark is pre-war and country blues, with a strong emphasis on melody lines and rhythmic playing. The course is part of a cooperation with the Volkshochschule Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.
