This course delves into the world of jazz chromatic harmonica. Participants will develop essential jazz harmonica techniques, including articulation, tone shaping and instrument control. They will also learn foundational improvisation methods, such as melodic and harmonic improvisation. The course will introduce a diverse repertoire of jazz standards that suits the chromatic harmonica. Additionally, students will receive guidance on building effective practice routines to accelerate their musical progress.

For this course you should be able to play single notes woth confidence. Please bring a chromatic harmonica in the key of C (any size is okay).

THE INSTRUCTOR
Filip Jers is one of the most famous harmonica players in the world and is well known to the Swedish music scene. His way of playing the harmonica is unique in its artistry and sound, full of emotion and playfulness. His musical palette is lyrical, colorful, and full of contrasts. Jers was the first harmonica player ever to graduate from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and has played in more than 30 countries worldwide. In 2016 he received the Swedish Radio Jazzkatten award for Musician of the Year.

THE MASTER WORKSHOP
